SAYANO-SHUSHENSKAYA DAM
ANATOMIZING HYDROPOWER
Hydropower is a major transformative power in Siberia both on the regional and local scale. Powering the industrialization of the region in the seventies by generating entire cities in otherwise desolated areas, hydropower plants and dams shaped landscape, culture and ecosystems.
The project is an attempt of highlighting this power, by reworking the water-infrastructure of an existing dam in Sayano-Shushenskaya.
