A FORREST FIN MUSEUM
Along the river Rotna, WEAVING WOOD creates a connection between culture and nature. Through the trees, two welcoming circles are joined together and create a natural gathering point for the Forest-Finn culture. A place for both foresters, locals and visitors. A place for everyone.
Where the forest was burned down, the grain was sown in the ashes to grow. By analogy, we start with this philosophical narrative. The new forest museum incorporates the history of forest fins and mimics with its burned woodwork on the facade the traditions and methods of sweat use. From the ashes grows an institution with societal potential that interweaves with the local community. The central organization, with strong relation to river and nature, creates the possibility of staying in the company of a high diversity of landscape staging. This attraction forms together with the varied features and the warm interior of the building, the foundation of a dynamic museum where everyone will meet. Architecturally, the museum is inspired by the traditional wooden village, where the various houses are merged into a whole under many small contiguous roofs. This complements the traditional Forest-Finn building habits and manifests itself as a collecting icon for the rest of the village's scattered houses.
